American Ruby was born in Illinois and studied psychology in the States before moving to the UK to study music and drama. She initially worked as a straight actress with the Royal Shakespeare Company, although it wasn’t long before Ruby’s natural comic talent emerged. After appearing on the British sitcom Girls On Top, Ruby rose to fame as an interviewer on shows such as The Full Wax and Ruby Wax Meets.
