Puneeth started his career by playing the role of a child artist in Bettadu Hoovi film in 1985.
he made his acting debut in 2002 Kannada Film Appu as a lead actor.

Sandalwood actor Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on Friday (29 October 2021) after suffering from a heart attack at the age of 46. The actor was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru. On today morning around 11:30 am.
Actor Puneeth Rajkumar died in a Bengaluru hospital today after suffering a heart attack, leaving fans and colleagues shocked and grief-stricken. The actor had been working out in a gym when he had a cardiac arrest; he was taken to Vikram Hospital in an “unresponsive” condition.
According to hospital sources, Puneeth Rajkumar was rushed after complaining of chest pain. Puneet was one of the leading heroes in the Kannada movie world where his father Dr Rajkumar was considered a Super Star in the industry.
Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar passed away due to a fatal cardiac arrest. He was reportedly working out in his gym when he collapsed suddenly and was rushed to a hospital immediately. Puneeth was later admitted to Vikram Hospital and was receiving treatment in the intensive care unit until the devastating news came forth. The news of his passing, for obvious reasons, has shaken the entire film fraternity with many of Puneeth Rajkumar’s peers and closed ones reaching the hospital premises.
Dead actor Puneeth complained of chest pain on Friday morning and visited his family doctor for an ECG. Following the ECG, he was asked to rush to the hospital. He arrived at Vikram Hospital in a serious condition.
Rajkumar’s death was confirmed by Karnataka minister Dr CN Ashwathnarayan.
The state’s chief minister Basavaraj Bommai and the late actor’s brother Shiva Rajkumar are expected to speak at a press conference later in the day, as hundreds of mourning fans gathered outside the hospital.
