Lal Bahadur Shastri was the second prime minister of India. Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on 2 October 1904, in Mughalsarai, Uttar Pradesh. His father was a teacher who died when he was a year and a half old. Shastri ji pursued his education at Harish Chandra High school and East Central Railway, an inter-college. He is best remembered for his slogan, ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’.He was greatly influenced by Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts. This year marks the 57th death anniversary of Shastri.
