Early Life of Droupadi Murmu

Draupadi Murmu was born in the small village Baidaposi of the Mayurbanj district of Orissa. From her childhood, she was excellent in her studies and also a great devotee of Lord Shiva. From an ST family, she face many hardships & completed their higher studies after she serves as a school teacher in the Shri Aurobindo Integral Education Centre in Rairangpur. Later on, she joined the BJP party in 1997 to begin her carrier in politics.

Despite being born in a backward area & in a tribal family, her family member was educated & holds a good position in the village. Her father & grandfather were village heads and holds a good positions in the village. he was married to Shyam Charan Murmu having 2 sons & 1 daughter. But her both son died later in life.

Living in the least developed areas Draupadi was able to graduate from women’s college & later she started her political journey by being elected as councilor of Rairangpur Nagar panchayat in 1997. She also served as National vice president of the BJP Party. By doing good work at the party she was finally able to become the first tribal to become Jharkhand governor.

She also served as Ministery of State with Independent Charge for Commerce and Transport and Fisheries and Animal Resources Development. Apart from this, she was also an MLA for 4 years from 2000 to 2004. She get the Nilkantha award for her tremendous work after becoming MLA and also she was portrayed as the best party worker & MLA.

Draupadi Murmu: NDA’s Presidential candidate 2022

In June 2022, Draupadi Murmu was nominated by BJPs the National Democratic Alliance’s candidate for the President of India in the 2022 election. She visited various states as part of the Presidential Campaign 2022 around the country seeking support for her candidature, from BJP lawmakers and other opposition parties.

Draupadi Murmu visited NE states, BJD of Odisha, JMM Party of Jharkhand, Shiv Sena of Maharashtra, BSP of Uttar Pradesh, JDS of Karnataka and many others were some of the prominent opposition parties that extended their support to her.
