He is also known as a character actor in Marathi and Hindi films, especially in Mira Nair’s Salaam Bombay!, Mississippi Masala and Anupam Mittal’s Flavors and Gol Maal, Bemisal, Khuda Gawah, Kabhi Han Kabhi Na and Pukar.
His successful movies are Bakri, Moteram Ka Satyagraha, Shatranj Ke Mohare, Ek Aur Dronacharya and Chakkar Pe Chakkar.
Anjan has worked in popular movies like Junction Varanasi, PM Narendra Modi. Anjan’s previous film to hit the theatres was Junction Varanasi in the year 2019.

He has also worked in radio, theaters and regional movies.
He worked with “Sangeet Kala Mandir” for 10 years. His mother always supported him to join the entertainment industry.
He also worked with Prithvi Theatre in the city.
After completing LLB, his father wanted him to work as a clerk in Allahabad Bank but he always wanted to be an actor. He had the opportunity to work at AIR Calcutta. So he worked as a banker and at the same time did theater also.
He retired from the bank in 2001.
They have three children: twins (a girl and a boy) and on more daughter.
