Aamir Khan realized that time is the most precious thing for a man and so far he could not give time to his loved ones while fulfilling his dream, so now he wanted to change it. And so he decided to leave the film industry.
Yes, Aamir Khan decided to retire from filmmaking. He described his state of mind over the last two years in an Indian program at the ABP Ideas of India event in Mumbai on Saturday. Aamir Khan realized that how much time he spent away from his children when they were growing up and hence he has decided to retire from filmmaking.
Aamir Khan says that this industry has created a rift between him and his family. This is a major concern for me as I have no idea what my kids want. When I realized what I’d done, I was troubled with myself and even with the movies I did. I’ve informed my family that I will not appear in any more films. My company nor I will take action or generate anything. Khan said he preferred to spend time with his family rather than working on films.
Aamir explained that he didn’t announce his retirement as he thought people might call it a ‘marketing tool’ ahead of Laal Singh Chaddha’s release. The actor further said that his ex-wife, film producer Kiran Rao, was the one who told him his decision was wrong. Kiran cried when Aamir told her about his decision, according to Aamir. After making his decision, Aamir stated he began working with his daughter Ira Khan.

Aamir also said that his children told him that his decision was not right. His children asked Khan to find a balance in his life.
Aamir Khan says that my family is shocked by my decision. Yet no one dared to disagree with me. Then I decided that what I really needed to do was learn how to do it right. Then I realized that if I told people, they would say, ‘Since Lal Singh Chadha is coming, this is his marketing strategy and he is announcing his retirement.
